GENDER EQUALITY: Be your own stylist

Freedom, a word that echoes the plethora of emotions. It is not just a word but a lifetime struggle for a large part of our society. Freedom of speech, Freedom to Express, and Freedom to own your skin and be who you are, where this may be given for us but it is a farfetched reality for some. So are we really free, if a huge part of our dignified and polished society still seeks basic human rights of being treated as equals and having the freedom of expression?

When a child is born, the first thing we notice is if it is a boy or a girl – a male or a female. And when that child grows up and discovers changes in his/her body, changes in his/her emotions, his immediate first instinct is to suppress these feelings and put on a face that is more accepted in society. But is that right?

Is being who you are and loving who you love, expressing the personality that is within you, wearing the clothes that you like, being your own fashion stylist, Is it asking too much, Is it not a basic right of humanity?
